about

This song is about overthinking. Spending too much time in our brains can sometimes be a bad thing, and sometimes we put words in a persons mouth if they're not replying to us, and we fill their silence with our own worries and insecurities.
It's a bit of a self-sabotage anthem, my favourite line is the first line of the Chorus about breaking something before it's broken. I think that says it all really…

I demo'd this track at home and then showed Chris Hollis who absolutely brought it to life and made it what it is now!

lyrics

Verse 1:
I’ve been over drinking
so I start over thinking
get stuck in this space and make up your end of the conversation

Ooh looks like it’s breaking
Oh it’s another mistake
and I’ll replay the things you don’t say yeah
the things you don’t say

Chorus:
Why do I have to break things that aren’t broken
Why do I try to take Love in over doses
Why do I have to pretend I gotta hold on my emotions
Why do I try to take Love in overdoses

Verse 2:
oooh it’s way too late
for me to be sitting here sending texts
from my phone that I just know
I’m gonna regret when the night is over

sometimes I just can’t explain it
my head it runs away
and I’ll replay the things you don’t say yeah
all the things you don’t say

Chorus:
Why do I have to break things that aren’t broken
Why do I try to take Love in over doses
Why do I pretend I gotta hold of my emotions
Why do I try to tae Love in overdoses

mid 8
Just need for me to realise
some things they aren’t worth the fantasise
guess i thought it’d be different for you and i
x 2

Chorus:
Why do I have to break things that aren’t broken
Why do I try to take Love in over doses
Why do I pretend I gotta hold of my emotions
Why do I try to tae Love in overdoses
